Podophyllum Resin is used for:

Removing genital warts. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Podophyllum Resin is a cytotoxic agent. It works by preventing growth of the wart tissue.

Do NOT use Podophyllum Resin if:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Podophyllum Resin
• you are pregnant or breast-feeding
• you have diabetes or poor blood circulation
• you are taking steroids (eg, prednisone)
• you are treating bleeding warts, warts with hair growing from them, moles, or birthmarks
• the wart to be treated or the surrounding skin is inflamed or irritated

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Podophyllum Resin :

Some medical conditions may interact with Podophyllum Resin . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

• if you are planning to become pregnant
• if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
• if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Podophyllum Resin . Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

• Steroids (eg, prednisone) because they decrease Podophyllum Resin "s effectiveness

How to use Podophyllum Resin :

Use Podophyllum Resin as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

• Podophyllum Resin is usually administered at your doctor"s office, hospital, or clinic. If you are using Podophyllum Resin at home, carefully follow the procedures taught to you by your health care provider.
• Thoroughly clean the affected area. Use the supplied applicator to apply the medicine sparingly to the wart. Avoid contact with healthy skin. Allow to dry completely.
• After the appropriate treatment time has elapsed, remove the dried medicine with alcohol or soap and water as directed by your doctor.
• If you miss a dose of Podophyllum Resin , contact your doctor immediately.

Important safety information:

• Podophyllum Resin is for external use only. Do not get Podophyllum Resin in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If you get Podophyllum Resin in your eyes, rinse immediately with cool water.
• Do not use Podophyllum Resin on bleeding warts, warts with hair growing from them, moles, or birthmarks.
• Do not use Podophyllum Resin if the wart to be treated or the surrounding skin is inflamed or irritated.
• Do not treat large areas or numerous warts at the same time.
• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: Use of Podophyllum Resin during pregnancy has resulted in birth defects, fetal death, and stillbirth. Do not use Podophyllum Resin if you are pregnant. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. It is unknown if Podophyllum Resin is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Podophyllum Resin .

Possible side effects of Podophyllum Resin :

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. When used in small doses, no COMMON side effects have been reported with Podophyllum Resin . Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); burning, tingling, or numbness of the skin, hands, legs, or feet; diarrhea; fever, chills, or persistent sore throat; loss of consciousness; nausea; severe or persistent constipation; unusual bruising or bleeding; vomiting.

Store Podophyllum Resin at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C), in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep Podophyllum Resin out of the reach of children and away from pets.
