What is micafungin?

Micafungin is an antifungal medication.

Micafungin is used to treat esophageal candidiasis and for the prevention of Candida fungal infections in patients receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Micafungin may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Micafungin should be administered as an injection by a healthcare provider. It should be administered in a clinical setting where an emergency situation can be handled properly.
