Before using Loprox Cream:

Some medical conditions may interact with Loprox Cream. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

  • if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
  • if you have allergies to medicines or other substances

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Loprox Cream. However, no specific interactions with Loprox Cream are known at this time.

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Loprox Cream may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

How to use Loprox Cream:

Use Loprox Cream as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

  • Clean the affected area with soap and water and dry thoroughly. Apply enough medicine to cover the affected area. Rub in gently. Do not cover unless directed by your doctor. Wash your hands immediately after using the medicine, unless your hands are part of the treated area.
  • Continue to use Loprox Cream until the entire prescribed amount has been used, even if symptoms of infection have resolved. Failure to use all of the medicine may not completely eliminate the fungus and may allow the infection to return.
  • If a dose is missed, use it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, restart using Loprox Cream and advise your health care provider at the next visit.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Loprox Cream.

Important safety information:

  • Loprox Cream is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes or on the inside of your nose or mouth.
  • Do not wrap or otherwise cover the treated area with bandages or wear tight-fitting clothing unless specifically directed by your doctor.
  • It is important to use Loprox Cream for the full course of treatment. Failure to do so may decrease the effectiveness of this treatment and may increase the risk that fungi will no longer be sensitive to Loprox Cream and will not be able to be treated by this or certain medicines.
  • Contact your health care provider if the condition does not improve within 4 weeks of using Loprox Cream.
  • Loprox Cream is not recommended for use in CHILDREN younger than 10 years of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.
