Lamisil AT Cream

Generic Name: Terbinafine Cream (TER-bin-ah-feen)
Brand Name: Lamisil AT

Lamisil AT Cream is used for:

Treating athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and other fungal infections of the skin.

Lamisil AT Cream is topical antifungal agent. It works by preventing the formation of substances needed by the fungus to grow and develop, which causes weakness and death of the fungus.

Do NOT use Lamisil AT Cream if:

you are allergic to any ingredient in Lamisil AT Cream

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Lamisil AT Cream:

Some medical conditions may interact with Lamisil AT Cream. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Lamisil AT Cream. Because little, if any, of Lamisil AT Cream is absorbed into the blood, the risk of it interacting with another medicine is low.

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Lamisil AT Cream may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

How to use Lamisil AT Cream:

Use Lamisil AT Cream as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

Lamisil AT Cream is for external use only. Do not use it on the nails or scalp. Do not use it near the mouth or eyes. Do not use it for vaginal yeast infections.
Do not use Lamisil AT Cream if the seal on the tube has been broken or is not visible. To use Lamisil AT Cream, use the tip of the cap to break the seal and open the tube.
Wash the infected skin area and surrounding areas with soap and water and dry the areas completely before using Lamisil AT Cream.
Wash your hands with soap and water after each use.
If you are using Lamisil AT Cream for athlete"s foot, wear well-fitting, ventilated shoes. Change shoes and socks at least once a day.
To clear up your infection completely, continue using Lamisil AT Cream for the full course of treatment even if you fee better in a few days.
If you miss a dose of Lamisil AT Cream, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Important safety information:

Do not get Lamisil AT Cream in your eyes, nose, or mouth. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.
Lamisil AT Cream may be harmful if swallowed. If you may have taken Lamisil AT Cream, by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Use Lamisil AT Cream with extreme caution in CHILDREN 12 years of age and younger. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.
PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant or plan to become pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Lamisil AT Cream during pregnancy. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using Lamisil AT Cream, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects of Lamisil AT Cream:

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:

Irritation (redness, itching, burning, blistering, or swelling) in the area being treated.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).

Proper storage of Lamisil AT Cream:

Store Lamisil AT Cream at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Keep Lamisil AT Cream out of the reach of children and away from pets.
