Kinetin Cream


Generic Name: Kinetin Cream and Lotion (KIN-uh-tin)
Brand Name: Kinerase

Kinetin Cream is used for:

Moisturizing skin, improving skin texture, reducing the appearance of freckles and brown spots, and reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles caused by skin aging or sun damage. It may also be used to moisturize skin after certain procedures (eg, chemical peels, laser resurfacing) or to treat sensitive skin caused by rosacea, eczema, or dermatitis. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Kinetin Cream is a moisturizing agent. It works by moisturizing the skin.

Do NOT use Kinetin Cream if:

  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Kinetin Cream

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Kinetin Cream:

Some medical conditions may interact with Kinetin Cream. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

  • if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
  • if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Kinetin Cream. However, no specific interactions with Kinetin Cream are known at this time.

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Kinetin Cream may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

How to use Kinetin Cream:

Use Kinetin Cream as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

  • Kinetin Cream comes with an additional patient leaflet. Read it carefully and reread it each time you get Kinetin Cream refilled.
  • Wash the affected area with a mild facial cleanser. Apply a dime-sized amount of medicine to the area to be treated as directed. Rub the medicine in until evenly distributed.
  • Kinetin Cream is for external use only. Avoid getting Kinetin Cream in your eyes. If you get Kinetin Cream in your eyes, rinse immediately with cool tap water.
  • Do not cover with a dressing unless directed to do so by your doctor.
  • Wash your hands immediately after using Kinetin Cream.
  • Sunscreen or makeup may be applied immediately after using Kinetin Cream.
  • If you miss a dose of Kinetin Cream, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Kinetin Cream.

Important safety information:

  • Check with your doctor after using Kinetin Cream for 3 months to determine improvement in your skin appearance.
  • Kinetin Cream does not make your skin sensitive to sunlight. However, if you are going outdoors it is recommended that you wear protective clothing and apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF 15 to prevent further sun damage to your skin.
  • Kinetin Cream may be harmful if swallowed. If you may have taken Kinetin Cream by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
  • Use Kinetin Cream with extreme caution in CHILDREN. Safety and effectiveness have not been confirmed.
  • PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant while taking Kinetin Cream, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Kinetin Cream during pregnancy. It is unknown if Kinetin Cream is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using Kinetin Cream, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects of Kinetin Cream:

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. When used in small doses, no COMMON side effects have been reported with this product. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).

Proper storage of Kinetin Cream:

Store Kinetin Cream at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Kinetin Cream out of the reach of children and away from pets.
