Crestor

Generic Name: Rosuvastatin (roe-SOO-va-sta-tin)
Brand Name: Crestor

Crestor is used for:

Lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels and increasing "good" cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein [HDL]) levels in patients who have also adopted lifestyle changes (eg, diet and exercise).

Crestor is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). It works in conjunction with diet and exercise by reducing the production of triglycerides in the liver.

  • you have liver problems or unexplained abnormal liver function test results
  • you are pregnant or breast-feeding

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
