Pepcid Complete is used for:

Treating heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach.

Pepcid Complete is an H₂ (histamine) blocker and antacid combination. It works by neutralizing stomach acid and reducing stomach acid production.

Do NOT use Pepcid Complete if:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Pepcid Complete or other acid reducers (H₂ blockers)
• you have trouble swallowing or increased calcium levels in the blood

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Pepcid Complete :

Some medical conditions may interact with this medicine. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

• if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
• if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
• if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
• if you have a history of kidney or liver disease or you have appendicitis, colon or intestinal blockage, parathyroid hormone (PTH) deficiency, or sarcoidosis

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Pepcid Complete . Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

• Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Pepcid Complete
• Azole antifungals (eg, ketoconazole), bisphosphonates (eg, alendronate), cation exchange resins (eg, sodium polystyrene sulfonate), cephalosporines (eg, cephalexin), mycophenolate, penicillamine, quinolone antibiotics (eg, ciprofloxacin), or tetracyclines (eg, doxycycline) because their effectiveness may be decreased by Pepcid Complete

How to use Pepcid Complete :

Use Pepcid Complete as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

• Take Pepcid Complete by mouth with or without food.
• To relieve symptoms of heartburn, chew 1 tablet. Chew thoroughly before swallowing.
• To prevent symptoms, chew 1 tablet with a glass of water at any time from 15 to 60 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages that cause heartburn.
• Do not use more than 2 chewable tablets in a 24-hour period unless directed by your health care provider.
• If you miss taking a dose of Pepcid Complete for 1 or more days, there is no cause for concern. If your doctor recommended that you take it, try to remember your dose every day.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Pepcid Complete .

Important safety information:

• Pepcid Complete may cause dizziness. This effect may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Pepcid Complete with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
• If pain continues or you need to take this product for more than 14 days for heartburn symptoms, stop use and contact your doctor.
• You may need to make significant diet and lifestyle changes to help treat and prevent ulcers and other digestive problems, including stress-reduction programs, exercise, and diet changes.
• Lab tests, including liver function, kidney function, and complete blood count, may be performed while you use Pepcid Complete . These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
• Use Pepcid Complete with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
• Pepcid Complete should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN younger than 12 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Pepcid Complete while you are pregnant. Pepcid Complete is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking his medicine.

Possible side effects of Pepcid Complete :

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:

Constipation; diarrhea; dizziness; headache.

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); loss of appetite; muscle weakness; nausea; seizures; slow reflexes; vomiting.

Store Pepcid Complete at room temperature, between 77 and 86 degrees F (25 and 30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Pepcid Complete out of the reach of children and away from pets.
