Brand Name: Olux

Olux Foam is used for:

The short-term treatment of burning and itching caused by moderate to severe skin diseases of the scalp. It may also be used for psoriasis.

Olux Foam is a topical corticosteroid. It works by decreasing certain immune responses, which reduces redness and itching of skin.

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Olux Foam:

Some medical conditions may interact with Olux Foam. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

  • if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

How to use Olux Foam:

Use Olux Foam as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

  • Turn the can upside down and dispense a small amount of Olux Foam into the cap of the can; onto a clean saucer; onto another cool, clean surface; or directly to the affected area. Take care to avoid contact with the eyes. Dispensing directly onto the hand is not recommended, as the foam will melt immediately upon touching warm skin. Move the hair away from the affected area and gently rub the medicine into the affected scalp area until the foam disappears. Repeat until entire affected scalp area is treated. Olux Foam should not be used on the face, groin, or armpits. Wash your hands after applying Olux Foam. Do not bandage or wrap the affected area unless directed otherwise by your doctor.
  • If you miss a dose of Olux Foam, apply it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Olux Foam.
