Maxair Autohaler

Generic Name: Pirbuterol (peer-BYOO-ter-ole)
Brand Name: Maxair Autohaler

Maxair Autohaler is used for:

Treating or preventing the symptoms of asthma. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Maxair Autohaler is a beta agonist. It dilates (opens) the bronchioles (air tubes) of the lung by relaxing the smooth muscle around the bronchioles. This helps you by allowing easier airflow into and out of the lungs.

Do NOT use Maxair Autohaler if:

  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Maxair Autohaler

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Maxair Autohaler :

Some medical conditions may interact with Maxair Autohaler . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
  • if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
  • if you have heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, an overactive thyroid gland, or a history of seizures

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Maxair Autohaler . Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

As you start to take a slow deep breath, press the canister and mouthpiece together at exactly the same time to administer a dose of Maxair Autohaler . Continue inhaling slowly and deeply and hold for as long as comfortable, then exhale slowly through pursed lips or the nose. If more than 1 inhalation is to be used, wait a few minutes and repeat the above process. Keep the spray away from your eyes.
