Klout Shampoo

Klout Shampoo is used for:

Treating head lice.

Klout Shampoo is a pediculicide (kills lice). It works by killing lice and by loosening the bond between the nits (lice eggs) and the hair, allowing them to be more easily combed out of the hair (with a special nit comb).

Do NOT use Klout Shampoo if:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Klout Shampoo

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Klout Shampoo:

Some medical conditions may interact with Klout Shampoo. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

• if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
• if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
• if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Klout Shampoo. Because little, if any, of Klout Shampoo is absorbed into the blood, the risk of it interacting with another medicine is low.

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Klout Shampoo may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

How to use Klout Shampoo:

Use Klout Shampoo as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

• Follow instructions provided with each product. Instructions for use vary from product to product.
• Over a sink (not in a bathtub), apply the shampoo to dry hair until hair is wet. Be careful not to get shampoo into the eyes.
• Work shampoo into hair and allow it to remain for 10 minutes. Brief tingling may occur.
• Rinse thoroughly with water.
• Carefully comb hair in sections, using a nit comb, working from the scalp out to the ends. Inspect each section to ensure removal of all lice and eggs from hair.
• Wipe comb with a tissue or dip in a cup of hot water to clean off any lice or eggs sticking to it. Wash comb in hot water after use.
• Reinspect hair each day for presence of lice or eggs for 7 to 10 days after treatment. If lice or eggs are seen at any time, repeat process.
• Itching may continue for several days even after scabies, mites, or eggs are no longer visible.
• If you miss a dose of Klout Shampoo, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Important safety information:

• Klout Shampoo is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, eyelids, mucous membranes (eg, nose, mouth), acutely inflamed skin, or raw, oozing skin.
• Klout Shampoo may be harmful if swallowed. If you or someone you know may have taken Klout Shampoo by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
• Avoid contact with eyes. Flush with water immediately if eye contact occurs.
• All members of your household are usually treated because this condition spreads by personal contact. Wash linens, clothes, and towels in hot water or dry clean them to prevent recurrence.
• CHILDREN are usually not allowed to attend school when lice or nits are present.

Possible side effects of Klout Shampoo:

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).

Store Klout Shampoo at room temperature, away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Klout Shampoo out of the reach of children and away from pets.
